Education: Graduated from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin 1988

specializing in Fashion and Textile Design.

Current owner /designer Nineteenthirty Atelier


December 2017 to date

Nineteenthirty Atelier is a menswear fashion and accessories brand created 2008 - to date. www.nineteenthirty.co.uk.

In 2008 is was a limited edition shirt and accessories brand, with exclusively designed textiles & accessory products. Produced in Europe.

After initially wholesaling the label to 25 UK independent stores it opened it's first shop in Oct 2012 closed November 2017. The bespoke side of the business continues.


Advocacy -We think it is important to inspire the next generation. We offer design mentoring and placement to one 3rd level student per year and have an open door policy to advising schools & students.


1999 – to date Design Inc (Belfast) was created in 1999 and is a design and marketing consultancy, which provided creative marketing and design solutions for fashion, textile and

interiors companies including brand creation and positioning, colour and trend information,

range design and building, textile design, sourcing and supply and the creation of marketing strategies.

Decora Blind Systems

Role 2006 - to date Consultant Designer

Responsibilities To analyze the interior furnishings market and highlight trends in colour and

fabric

Categorise the current range in terms of commercial success and customer.

Develop a new range building strategy

Develop a colour palette and print direction

Design on trend unique textile prints for various ranges

Liaise with the internal marketing team.

Creating unique content for social media

Developing seasonal stories and themes for marketing and design


Clear Spirit Design

Role 2010 - 2012 Design Consultant

Responsibility Creation of a womenswear brand which combines fashion and

fabric technology in a unique proposition


Corporate Wardrobe

Role 2006 - 2009 Consultant Designer

Responsibilities To re-position and re-launch the corporate brand into the Irish and

UK market and to guide the product development process, of new styles and

designs.

Creatively direct all marketing materials and website development.

Bridgedale Performance Socks

Roles - 2005 Consultant Designer

Responsibilities The design and development of performance sock for ski, walking and climbing.

The project included research and the market positioning of new product.



Junkers and Mullers GmbH (Germany)

Role - 2007 Consultant Designer

Responsibilities To analyse the UK interior furnishings market and highlight trends in colour and

fabrics. Develop a colour palette


Glenaden Shirts Ltd

Role : 2000 - 2008 Consultant - Design Director.


Responsibilities Creation of brands from initial concept ,to the market positioning and delivery to

market of 5 shirt brands -

1…like no other (now owned by BMB)Thread and Bone, 1 woman, Spin, Silver

Hawk and a new product line of T- Shirts.

Analysis of trends and colour.

Sourcing of all fabrics and trims and new product supply.

Creation of brand identity, consumer profile and identifying market position

Creative direction of all marketing and sales support materials

Creating sub brands for specific retailers such as Selfridges of London and

Reebok (USA) for their flagship stores across America.

Presenting the brand to buyers including Saks 5th Avenue (USA

Coordinating the display and presentation (including attendance) of 1…like no

other at The Pitti Uomo Menswear Fair in Florence, Magic in Las Vegas and New

York


Design Directorate (Design Group within Invest Northern Ireland)


Role: 2000 -2005 Design Consultant

Responsibilities Promotion and delivery of creative design solutions to large and small business

across N.Ireland.

Companies including Denman, Home Design & Laird Design

Main contributor to the publication of ‘Pulse on Paris’ trend, colour and lifestyle

information,

and Pulse on Paris educational study tour and seminars on trend and lifestyle.

Organiser of the Design with Memory competition 2000 -2001


Galantas Irish Gold

Role: 2002 Marketing Consultant

Responsibilities Repositioning & creation of the marketing materials for a range of Irish gold

jewellery.
